HoSE adjusts large-cap basket, banks' total weight increases
HÀ NỘI — The Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) has updated its large-cap VN 三0 basket and changes will become valid on May 四.
The southern market regulator will not add or remove any stocks into/from the basket but adjust the weight of each stock.
Weight of Vietcombank shares (VCB) will increase by 一. 三 一 per cent to 五. 二 二 per cent. Those of Vietinbank (CTG) and Eximbank shares (EIB) will rise by 一. 三 八 per cent and 一. 五 九 per cent to 二. 六 三 per cent and 二. 八 三 per cent, respectively.
Other stocks whose weights will increase include petrol firm Petrolimex (PLX, 0.0 三 per cent), brewer Sabeco (SAB, 0.0 六 per cent) and conglomerate Vingroup (VIC, 0.0 四 per cent).
HoSE also lowers the weights of consumer firm Masan (MSN, 0. 三 一 per cent), Techcombank (TCB, 0. 三 二 per cent), and VPBank (VPB, 0. 四 一 per cent).
The combined weight of nine listed banks now accounts for 三 五. 二 一 per cent of the large-cap basket, followed by “Vin” companies – Vingroup, Vinhomes and Vincom Retail – with 一 四. 九 六 per cent.
In addition, the VN 三0-based exchange-traded fund VFMVN 三0 ETF will complete overhauling its portfolio on April 二 九.
The fund is forecast to buy in VNĐ 七 二. 四 billion (US$ 三.0 八 million) worth of Vietcombank shares, VNĐ 八 七. 六 billion worth of Eximbank shares, and VNĐ 七 六. 二 billion worth of Vietinbank shares. — VNS
